Never thought we'd see something like this since DF focusses on current technology for the most part.
For those not familiar with Digital Foundry, it's a division of Eurogamer, concentrating on analyzing specs and performance of games and systems, written by none other than Richard Leadbetter who you no doubt know from MAXIMUM, OSSM, Mean machines and CVG.

But I'm very happy it showed up today and can't wait to see if other features like this pop up in the future.

Interesting article, if a little C64 biased. Here's a counter article by Stuart Campbell.

I don't know why people are still having this 'My machine is better than yours' argument after all these years. Everyone knows that the Amstrad CPC was the best 8-bit computer Wink

Yeah it really is a bit silly isn't it.
Back in the day when discussions were heated it was more understandable, but so many years later?
That a certain system keeps a special place in your heart is nothing to freak out about, just look at my love for the Sega Saturn. Wink
But to call good people like Julian Rignall or Paul Glancey c*nts and worse over this is just showing that you haven't mentally advanced past your 10 year old self.  Tongue

I'm really sad that I missed out on a big part of classic gaming by not having one of those systems myself.
I did play quite a bit on a friends commodore 64 now that I think about it, as well as his Odyssey I believe. (It was a system with a keyboard and the carts had a handgrip on them that leaned a bit backwards.
But for the most part things went NES->Mega Drive->SNES with a little bit of Master System and off course a lot of the Game Boy and Game Gear thrown in.

Before getting my NES it mainly was arcade games at home in the late 70s up to the early 90s, and to be honest I wouldn't want to replace those memories with anything else. Smiley

Would love to get into old computer games now, but I just don't have the time to even play all the "new" games that I have, let alone a back catalogue of a couple thousand micro games.
Although it didn't stop me from playing Doom 1 for over an hour on y 360 just now. Wink
