Ever since getting an iPod Touch I've been using Comicbooklover on it since that's the application I use on OS X as well.

The good thing about is that it's a free app unlike the full OS X one.
The bad thing about it is that it doesn't seem to get a lot of updates and that it's still in a somewhat BETA form.

So I tried an app called Comic Zeal, which I liked quite a bit for the most part, but still had a couple of rough parts as well.
Well, I somehow missed the latest update for it, which came out late November.
Since I had the night shift this past week and thus spent my breaks all by myself, I read up on several Super Play articles I wanted to read.

When I started up Comic Zeal 5, I noticed that everything was even snappier than before.
There's basically no loading when opening a magazine and flipping pages happens instantly. Smiley
The cataloging option is more robust and organizing sets is more straight forward than before.
Your personal zoom setting preferance can be saved by using the 2-finger zoom and keeping your fingers on the screen for a second or two, which makes it even easier to read columns of text spread along multiple pages.

In short, I'm really loving this app now after being "just" happy about it before.
The mini version is only for iPod/iPhone and costs €3, but the iPad version, which is also compatible with the iPod/iPhone costs €6, so I'd certainly recommend that one if you have an iPad as well or are looking to get the new iPad3 with the much nicer screen, which comes out in March. Wink

I bought Comic Zeal on your advice a while ago for the iPad but I never really liked the layout that much. I settled on PDF Bookmanager as it suits my style better. Still ...  I might load up ComicZeal again to see what the differences are  Smiley

Yeah, the layout and overall user interface wasn't the best. Quite clumsy actually.
But this new one, pretty much fixed all the little problems I had with it before.

You can also adjust several options and set the single tap/double tap options to your liking for zooming or getting to the menus etc.

Now while I love ComicZeal, it doesn't offer a lot of options to tinker with.
So taking the advice of a friend, I tried out ComicGlass.

One of the things that still bothers me on ComicZeal is how you can't set the app to resize the magazines to either width or height. So you end up with pages that are a little bit too large to be displayed on the screen at times.

This option as well as a huge list of others is included with ComicGlass, and the performance seems to be top notch as well.
Couldn't get the web-upload thingy to work yet, but synching through iTunes does the job.

A bit early to tell if I prefer it to ComicZeal at this point, but I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being my preferred mobile reader.
It's seems to be getting updated a lot more frequently as well so that's certainly a bonus as things move forward and we get ready for the iPad 3 retina goodness. Wink

Oh and it's quite a bit cheaper and clocks in at only $3.

So now the "NEW iPad" is here with the fancy hi-res screen is anybody going to buy one? Will probably look pretty nice for those hi-res mags Meppi has been releasing lately  Smiley

It's not being released immediately over here anyway.
Might import one from the UK if it takes too long, but I should have one by the time summer comes around. Wink

Gonna be fun playing all those Cave games on it as well.

Just got my "New iPad" last weekend and after discovering comics again, my first thought was, "What about game magazines?".  I got ComicFlow and immediately loaded up Super Play 1 from OoPA.....are you kidding me?!?!?!?  It's amazingly BEAUTIFUL!!!!  It easily blows away anything else I've seen on the ipad so far.  Outstanding work, fellas.  I'll be getting more ASAP!
