Coming out next January in Japan will be a newly created animated movie based on the Professor Layton puzzle games. TOHO is doing the honors with the story being handled by Level 5 president Akihiro Hino who has been the man behind all of the PL games so far (and just to toot the horn a little louder, he also directed the soon to be released Dragon Quest IX. The movie also receives a little more power from the producer, Masakazu Kubo who produced the Pokemon films (take that for what it is worth, just remember, those things sell like hotcakes on a cold winter morning).
The animated movie will feature the same voice actors from the games so no worries of a Rick Hunter mess up like in the Robotech/Macross releases.
