Very excited about this one as I love the original Sonic Mega Drive games.
So sad that the series took such a nosedive the past decade.

This one looks just about perfect by the first looks of it.
The only thing I really dislike is the Sonic model. The original had a lot more character and attitude, even though this redesign was supposed to do just that.

In the end the quality of the game will depend on the level design, which is still up in the air at this point.

I just stumbled upon these news for the first time yesturday. I have to say I was very exciited, but I have to say I'm not expecting it to be better than Sonic 3 & Knuckles at all. So I'm not gonna believe it be good (as the 16-Bit versions)until I play the game myself, therfore keeping my expectations neutral in hopes that I may really enjoy it or be surprised.

Looking back at the 2D Sonics, especially S3&k, the level designs were nothing short of genius, so I'm curious as to how these levels will turn out.

One thing I'm dissapointed in is that they misinterpreted when the fans asked for only Sonic as the characters. They should of know that the fans did not mind Knuckles and Tails at all in S3&K. Reason why is because I really enjoyed the different paths in S3&K. Well, here is hoping they incorparate this in Episode 2 (or that's what Epesode 2 and/or 3 are for).

Just looked at the website and it's really looking great.  I liked Sonic 1, loved Sonic 2, but the sequels (as were many platform games at the time) were getting old and stale.  However, after over 15 years of rest, going back to the classic side-scrolling platform era of the Mega Drive games is a step in the right direction.  Don't like the idea of download only, though, never been a fan of this idea.
