So, I got my PS3 a little over 18 months ago.  Most of that time has been spent playing Blu-Rays.  The picture quality isn't THAT much of an improvement, imo.  It does make regular dvds look fantastic, but my HDMI player in the bedroom does the same thing.  As for the gaming:

I got Grand Theft Auto 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, NCAA Football 2009, and Smackdown vs Raw 2009 early on.  NONE of these blew me away and I was really feeling buyer's remorse at the system purchase.  Fast forward to May of this year and a little game called inFamous.  This game has saved the PS3 for me.  I played that game for weeks before finally finishing it.  Then I started over the very next day.  I love that game!

Going off the great feeling from inFamous, I went out and bought Assassin's Creed and Red Faction....again...was not impressed.  Once Uncharted: Drakes Fortune dropped in price, I picked that up as well.  It's ok so far, but I'm not in the "gotta play it" mode that I was with inFamous.  Now, I just got Batman: Arkham Asylum and Dead Space yesterday.  Haven't played Dead Space, but have spent an hour or so with Batman.  Like Uncharted, it's ok so far.  I've made a trade for Little Big Planet and Fallout 3, but I don't have them yet.  There are other games on the system that I would like to try out, but times are tough these days and gaming purchases are few and far between.

I hear that the system has received a huge boost in sales since the price drop and slim console release.  I watched E3 this past June and am looking forward to some of the titles coming out in the next few months.  PS3 looks like it will be a strong console.  Do any of you have the PS3?  What's your story with it?  Got any game recommendations?

Don't have a PS3 yet but planning on getting one later this year before the re-release of GOW 1 and 2 though.  Hidinger has one, he will probably be posting here when he sees this.

I have GoW 1 and 2, but haven't opened them.  I've heard the PSP game is good and have almost pulled the trigger on that purchase.  3 looks good, too.

I have Chains on PSP and it has gotten me interested in the others so, yeah, it is good ($20 at most locations and probably $12 or so used at Gamestop by now).  If you are into GOW, I say get it on PSP, it is worth it.
