Hi everyone, just wanted to say how much I am enjoying this site.
Reading the magazines available here were a big part of my childhood and I still have most of my collection to this day.
I discovered this site when I googled "PC Player" which was one of my favorite magazines back in the day. Unfortunately,
I could only ever find two issues of the magazine as it was not sold in my country. I hope there are plans to include more
issues on the site as I would to check out what I missed back then.

I am also wondering if anyone know about a PC magazine from the 90s that had a habit of using very bright colors of their
covers. I only had three issues but the covers were bright blue, orange and green. If I recall correctly they used female
models for the covers and if I am not mistaken the one issue I had featured one of the writers in bed with a pc monitor
smoking lol It was to tie in with an article called "Are computers better than sex." I have searched high and low but can't
find any mention of this magazine anywhere on the Net and sadly my copies are in storage somewhere so I can't even
recall the name. Would be great if someone could shed some light on this for me as it has been bugging me for a while.

Anyway keep up the great work guys and I look forward to seeing what else this site has in store! Grin

PC Accelerator was quite wild with their covers but I don't remember specifically seeing the smoking in bed one you describe.  I will check the issues I have (nearly a full set of that magazine).

I think Neil has quite a few more PC Player magazine, the first dozen in fact. So more should be popping up in the future. These things just take time. Wink

Can't really help with identifying that magazine as my speciality lies with console games and magazines, especially Japanese systems of all kind.

Thanks triverse, really appreciate the effort. I can't believe I remember the covers so vividly but forgot the name of the magazine! I know that the issue with the
green cover had a girl in pigtails smashing a piggy bank with the wording "Greed is good" which if I remember correctly was about the way profits were divided
in the gaming industry. The orange issue had a close-up of two girls on a motorbike and had a featured article about violent games and movies or something. Huh

Thanks meppi, I have all but given up on seeing any issues of PC Player so I am sure I can patiently wait for them to make an appearance here Grin

Hi RETRORambler, I'm currently working on PC Player #3 at the moment.  It should be ready in a couple of weeks.  I don't have much spare time so my releases are a little spread out.  And yes, I intend to release all of the 11 issues that were published.

That PC magazine you're thinking about isn't PC Format, is it, from Future?  They had/have a bad habit of using female models on the front cover for various different features.

Ah, I didn't even realise that the full set was only 11 issues.
Always nice to have a completed set in good condition as some of these can be very hard to find. Smiley

Thanks Nreive! You are my hero.

No, the magazine wasn't PC Format. As far as I can remember the models used by the magazine were
not the professional type used by PC Format (if that makes any sense.) They were not scantily clad
either lol

Well I got a nice Xmas surprise from my in-laws who came down to visit. They brought along my entire collection of magazines that was in storage at their place. It must be close to 1000 magazines Shocked. As soon as I have the time to sort through them I will check to see what the name of the magazine I was talking about here is and maybe post some pics.

Lol indeed! Fortunately they drove down in a minivan because they brought a drawer for my wife so they decided to fill it up with the magazines and use the rest of the space for boxes with magazines.

Yes it is indeed quite a rush just seeing the pile in the corner of my office! Anyway one mystery that has been bugging me for years is finally solved. The magazine that I was asking about is PC Power! Hopefully someone here has more issues that will one day be up on the site Grin

Ah, PC Power from Paragon Publishing. Looks almost like a lads mag equivalent for the PC games scene.  Although I had heard of this mag, I have never seen a front cover of any issue, so never thought that it would be that.  I have some PC Action, PC Games, PC Zone, PC Player, Ultimate PC and PC Gamer issues, but no PC Power...  About the only PC games mag that I haven't got at least one issue Sad  Good job getting all those mags back, though.  You're gonna be busy getting nostalgic rushes well into the new year  Wink

Yup the humour is definitely very laddish but I enjoy their articles. It is great having my magazines back but unfortunately time has not been kind to a lot of them. Still gonna take me ages to sort through everything but I am looking forward to it.  Grin PC Format you say Nreive? Another firm favourite of mine! Between my newfound collection and what is still to come for this site I think I'm just about covered for my retro gaming magazine needs Cool
