"I still have no idea why I own 2 TurboGrafx-16s"

This is good news for all those Castlevania fans out there........at least the ones who own a Wii.

from 1UP.com:
Quote
There's been plenty of speculation that Konami's Rebirth initiative -- WiiWare releases of some of its most beloved franchises, but in the style of the old 2D classics -- would eventually extend to Castlevania, and today it seems we've received the first confirmation of this. The Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) has just listed a Castlevania the Adventure ReBirth (as discovered by GamerBytes). And while there's no real information on how the game will look or play, one could speculate based on the name that it's based on Castlevania: The Adventure, a popular installment for the GameBoy

Good news indeed! For the complete story click here:

Great news!

Haven't tried Gradius Rebirth yet, but I just downloaded Contra Rebirth this past weekend and I really like it. Not the best Contra, but certainly a very very nice surprise.

Speaking of Wiiware, it really surprised me to see several games on there that I didn't even know were out yet. At least in Europe.
I usually keep up with this kind of thing, but I've missed several weeks of updates, so I was very pleasantly surprised to see Arkanoid Plus, Bit Trip Core and Contra Rebirth on there. Smiley

After the surprise of Puzzle Bobble and the recently released and btw excellent Puzzle Bobble galaxy, this has been a great week for retro style games!

Awesome!  I love these new retro games!  Now, if only Nintendo would release some.  Imagine a new Zelda, Metroid, Mario, and Kid Icarus!!!!  WHere is Kid Icarus?!?  This was rumored years ago.  Where's the game, Nintendo?

Are you here for conversation or to advertise UNG.com? This site is not here for that purpose.

Bought this game yesterday and I love it. It's 100% classic Castlevania.
Reminds me how I miss the straight forward level design and would love to see more games like this instead of the "Metroidvania's" we've been getting over the past decade.

Rondo of Blood is coming up soon as well here in Europe, and even though I own the PC-Engine version, I'll be buying this one as well to support the decision to finally bring it over. It worked wonders with Sin & Punishment seeing how we're getting the sequel on Wii very soon. Smiley
