I just recently found out that I am going to be a daddy. I realize, after hearing the news, seeing the pregnancy test and getting over the initial shock, that this is one of those moments that the world simply stops turning for a moment. Everything goes to the back of your mind and you are either ecstatic or just weird. Me, I am beyond ecstatic, I can't wait. I mean, I am going to have a little loud mouth to raise, someone to show the ropes of life to, to teach to ride a bicycle, someone to watch over their shoulder as they write their first letters.
Does it get any better?

Yep, now I will have a reason for sleeping 4 to 6 hours a day. lol Can't wait. Already found a place that does something called "screen printing", apparently that is what it is called when they take pics and such and put them on clothing. I am going to have some funny gaming related ones printed up (there is a serious lack of gaming related baby clothing).
You know stuff like:
"Daddy's little Space Invader" and have a pixelated Space Invader alien underneath or something.
"I made an ung..." with an arrow pointing down
"My real name is Mario" if a boy (and have the onesy as they are called made up like Mario's overall's)
"My real name is Zelda" if a girl (and have it made up in something princessy)
"Beware the Mother Brain" though I have a feeling that one would be taken wrong
There are a bunch of others but they escape my mind right now.

Wow, I disapear for a couple of days and I missed to reply to this breaking news.
Funny thing is that I've been thinking about getting my life together quicker to be able to settle down and start a family before I get to old and the opertunity passes me by. Think I started thinking about this when I read and replied a nickerous post? Anyways, I Don't want to be to old when my kid(s) come(s) around, you know, to still be young and healthy to be very active around with them for as long as possible, not that I don't keep in shape.
So in other words, I'm glad you it's working out with you, and I hope you enjoy raising that kid and wish you the best of luck. I know I can't wait to start being in your shoes too eventually, but this is about you, so you try to make sure and I hope everything works out with your families future for the best.

Thanks for the kind words Addicted. I know what you mean about the being too old thing. I am 33, going to be 34 this August and have been through the ringer so to speak in life (I won't bore people with the details but just suffice to say, it hasn't been that much fun really, till now, till I got the news, then everything changed).
You mentioned getting your life together first before having kids, that reminds me of something I forgot to do. lol You will never be ready for kids, honestly. You can plan for them with the best intentions and when you think you are nearing readiness, you realize, you have been planning for 9+ years. It will happen when the time is right (this may not be the exact time you think is right but it still will work out just fine).
Getting things ready, working on others, I plan on leaving my kids more than just my love for them (I want more than just one, though adoption may be our only option after the first, which is fine, there are plenty of littlins out there that need a good home). I will be unveiling more later (I was hoping to do it on the 1st of April but, well, as they say, the best laid plans of men and mice...).

Congratulations! I'm not really late to the news since I was privy to this a little while ago.
