On June 11th, the GBA turned 10 years old.  What was your favorite title on the system?  Mine is Final Fight One by Capcom.  I have countless versions of this game from the SNES version to the Sega CD one and even a couple of compilations for newer systems that have near arcade perfect ports of it.  Even after all of these years, the graphics hold up well, the gameplay is the same, though slightly more repetitive and it has that "feel" that so many scrolling fighters simply don't have.

The only thing I wish Capcom would have done is do similar ports of their other popular arcade titles.  Could you imagine a portable Strider or Ghouls n Ghosts/Ghosts n Goblins done in the style of FFO?  I mean, some extras that hardcore fans would earn that only enhance the arcade port of the original would have rocked.

Konami missed this boat too with titles that could have been done like Rush n Attack (they did recently do a new version on PSN/360) and Castlevania among others.

Final Fight One is indeed a fine conversion of the arcade classic and it was nice to see Capcom correct the minor niggles that plagued the SNES version.

The GBA is a brilliant machine for retrogaming fans, what with updated versions of classic games including Double Dragon Advance, Final Fantasy IV Advance, Gunstar Super Heroes, Metal Slug Advance, River City Ransom EX, Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon, Speedball 2 and more.

Yeah, I really feel bad that the GBA had such a short lifespan. Too bad Nintendo killed it with the DS, as the GBA was an extension of the 16-Bit era... But then again, the DS is an extension of the 32-Bit era (which I also love very much), and if it would of come later it would of been to powerfull which i wouldn't of liked. Angry As I think gaming starting going dowhill with the more much more powerfull systems.

Yeah the GameBoyAdvance is a fav of mine, expecially my brother. As which GBA game is my fav? Hmm, out of game i beat on it, I'd say Metroid Zero Mission, Final Fantasy 6, and Breath of Fire 1 (not 2 Tongue). And when I beat these other games I'm loking forward to, both Golden Sun games, Mother 3, and Final Fight One, I'm more than sure they'd rank up there as my favourite.

So how do you compare Final Fight One to other beat'em ups and as well as other Final Fights, triverse?

Good question Addicted to Chaos.  I attribute my love for Final Fight, as a series, to the fact that it has that "feel" that no other fighting games have.  Capcom has given the characters of Final Fight a little bit of extra animation, a little pause when they are hit, which creates a "feel" like you are actually hitting something with matter, not just pixels on a screen.  Capcom did this with the Street Fighter series too which, I think, helped create that "urge" inside of gamers to play it since it had a "feeling" to it that other fighting games didn't have.

I love Final Fight One because I am not tied to my TV to play it, or a bulky arcade unit in some seedy location (I do plan on buying a full size Beast Busters by SNK someday- the best one I saw was over $3,000 and it was in ROUGH condition, others have been "kits" for $1,200).
