It is no secret that meppi and me are big TNA Wrestling fans.  There are more fans here because the discussion is getting a lot of views, both by fans and by some wrestlers that we know visit here (how are you guys enjoying the nice selection of mags and articles that are available?).  The main problem I had with the original release of TNA iMPACT! Cross the Line was that it was only for home consoles, no portable version.  Now that is being fixed and not only that, they are including Hulk Hogan as a playable character to boot.  I can see one thing that concerns me already though, Mick Foley looks rather, well, in shape there in the DS shots (anyone that knows Mick Foley knows, he has never been the poster child of a wrestler, he has always been more the everyman type guy).  Also, guys like Mick and Steiner are no longer with the company (though they were when the game was originally made, but more wrestlers, even released ones, is better than not having many).

A lot of people may be down on TNA iMPACT! Cross the Line due to the various limitations (it is their first shot at a game, WWE wasn't able to produce the storyline crossing, superstar making and all of that stuff they now have, in their first game either.  Besides, I just want to play a wrestling game, not go through tons of stuff to get to the ring (maybe that is why Pro Wrestling on NES is still such a popular title?).  Play it before you knock it.

---Press Release---
MIDLOTHIAN, VA – JULY 1, 2010 – SouthPeak Games announced that wrestling fans can get their TNA fix on the go starting today, as TNA iMPACT! Cross the Line is now available on the PlayStation Network and on store shelves nationwide for both the PSP (PlayStation Portable) system and Nintendo DS.

On the Nintendo DS, wrestling legend Hulk Hogan re-enters the arena! Players can follow his story in the Bound for Glory mode, along with the careers of over 17 current wrestlers in the Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling franchise. In both Bound for Glory and one-off fights, wrestling fans will be able to play the most brutal of matches with match types including “Ultimate X”, “Four Ways to Glory”, and the daunting “Six Sides of Steel”, where TNA Superstars must climb their way to freedom and victory before being dragged back down by their opponent!

TNA iMPACT! Cross the Line on the PSP system features a broad array of wrestlers, international wrestling arenas, and an arsenal of hard-hitting weapons, bringing new meaning to “Total Nonstop Action!” Players can also go head-to-head with friends using the Ad-Hoc two player mode, squaring off in tag-team matches, Ultimate X competitions, or just smashing each other silly in the new Full Metal Mayhem mode. The single player campaign features an in-depth storyline, dropping gamers into the mind of Suicide. After being beaten senseless and waking up with no memory on the wrong side of the Mexico border, Suicide must fight his way back to the top to reclaim his title and memory, and exact justice on those who took him down!

“We’re very excited to finally bring TNA iMPACT! Cross the Line to the pockets of the people,” said Richard Iggo, Vice President of Marketing, while tending to wounds he sustained in the ring. “TNA is the fastest growing wrestling franchise currently, and that’s in no small part due to their desire to bring the experience to fans in new ways. With reintroducing Hulk Hogan to the gaming world, adding in new match types, and packing it all into a portable format, we feel TNA iMPACT! Cross the Line an excellent addition to that goal.”

TNA iMPACT! Cross the Line is now available at retailers nationwide and on the PlayStation Network for the suggested retail price of $29.99. It is rated T for Teen by the ESRB. For more information, visit www.tnagame.com
